About the Colloquium

The Interdisciplinary Roundtable on Diversity (IRD) is pleased to present The Futures of Change: Equity, Diversity and Intercultural Understanding Colloquium. This first annual colloquium will showcase the work of UBC graduate students, post-doctoral fellows and other members of the university community who are promoting and advancing the values of equity, diversity and/or intercultural understanding in their academic work.  Broadly defined, the colloquium will focus on 3 key areas: health; teaching and learning; and community. Intended to work across disciplines and traditional faculty or departmental structures, the colloquium will give graduate students and others an enriched educational opportunity to share their areas of research and to connect with others from many other areas of the university. The Colloquium will promote student learning, research excellence and systemic change within the university. For those interested in presenting their research at this inaugural event on April 5, 2012, please see our Call for Proposals.
